Hydrogen powered bus

Hydrogen fuel buses are environmentally friendly transportation vehicles driven by hydrogen fuel cells, with significant advantages such as fast hydrogen refueling, zero emissions, and low noise.

Compared with traditional fuel vehicles, it only emits water and heat, and does not pollute the atmosphere; Compared with pure electric buses, its refueling time is only 10-15 minutes, the range can reach over 350 kilometers, and it can start normally in a low temperature environment of minus 30 degrees Celsius.

Its working principle is not to directly burn hydrogen, but to convert the chemical energy of hydrogen and oxygen into electrical energy through a fuel cell stack, driving the electric motor of the rear wheel to operate.

The specific process includes the decomposition of hydrogen into hydrogen ions and electrons, which form an electric current to power the motor, ultimately producing only water as the emission.

Despite its outstanding advantages, the commercialization of hydrogen fuel buses still faces multiple challenges, including:

High cost: The high cost of hydrogen production, storage and transportation, and fuel cell systems increases the overall operational burden.

Insufficient infrastructure: The number of hydrogen refueling stations worldwide is rare, with only over 350 in China, far below the size of gas stations, limiting their widespread use.

Technical bottleneck: Fuel cells have short durability and need to be replaced regularly, and system integration optimization still needs to be improved.

In practical applications, hydrogen fuel buses have demonstrated good performance, with users reporting smooth operation, fast acceleration, low noise, comfortable passenger experience, and significant carbon reduction effects (such as the cumulative carbon reduction of nearly 100 tons in the case).

In the future, with technological breakthroughs and policy support, hydrogen fuel buses are expected to expand their applications in areas such as passenger cars and heavy-duty trucks, helping to achieve the dual carbon goals.

The hydrogen fuel Longxing official vehicle adopts the Shanghai Kunhua Technology fuel cell system, with a rear fuel cell stack that accommodates three 140L hydrogen cylinders, paired with a 30.46kWh lithium manganese oxide battery, providing strong power and a range of up to 380Km. The front two and rear four air suspensions are equipped with an electric drive integrated axle and advanced chassis configuration, which can bring a better driving experience.
